Le document d'information de Santé Canada au sujet d'une seconde suspicion de TIAC aux USA :

Infection à l'E. coli O157:H7 : Illinois
L'Illinois Department of Public Health fait enquête sur une épidémie d'infection à l'E. coli O157:H7 associée à une fête privée réunissant 1 800 personnes, le 4 septembre dernier, tenue dans un pâturage sur une ferme située près de Petersburg en Illinois. Environ 336 personnes qui assistaient à la fête ont rapporté être malade et sur ce nombre, 22 ont été hospitalisées en Illinois et au Kentucky. Quarante-huit cas ont donné des cultures positives. Les renseignements préliminaires révèlent que des personnes provenant de 15 comtés de l'Illinois et de 6 autres États avaient
assisté à la fête. Les 6 États sont la Floride, Hawaii, le Kentucky, le Michigan, le Missouri et l'Ohio. Les responsables de la santé cherchent à cerner la source possible de l'infection et n'écartent pas les viandes de porc, de boeuf et d'autruche, grillées pour la fête. Les cultures prélevées d'un puit sur le terrain étaient négatives.
