EPA 15-10 On Oct. 12, 2001 the Administrator signed the final rule extending the implementation date for the July 2000 TMDL rule by 18 months and the date for the 2002 TMDL lists by 6 months to October 2002. L'Agence de Protection de l'Environnement (EPA) vient de publier son 14eme rapport d'evaluation des besoins d'investissements identifies au 1er janvier 2004 dans le domaine de l'assainissement et de la protection des eaux. Les besoins sont estimes a 202,5 milliards de dollars, une augmentation de 16 milliards en dollars constants par rapport a la derniere etude (date de reference 1/1/2000).
Ce rapport est base sur l'analyse de 30.000 projets eligibles au Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), un programme institue en 1987 et charge de d'octroyer des prets bonifies (taux d'interets inferieurs d'environ 2% au marche) aux collectivites.
34,1% des besoins concernent les systemes de traitement des eaux usees,
32,2% les reseaux de collecte et 27,1% la gestion des crues dans les reseaux unitaires (combined sewer overflow). 18 Etats, au premier rang desquels la Californie, New-York, Floride ...
