Voici un article intéressantconcernant de la dioxine dans des glaces haut de gamme Américaines concurrent direct de Haagen Dazs. Est-ce vrai? A voir... Ce qui est intéressant c'est que cette société est militante verte, travaillant avec Greenpeace et a un site sur lequel elle décrit les méfaits de la dioxine.

Internet Report Cites High Dioxin Levels in Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream

On November 8, a report published on junkscience.com indicated a serving of Ben & Jerry's ice cream contained nearly 200 times the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommended safe level of dioxin. Michael Gough, author of the study, said he was satisfied with the results, but admitted they may not reflect dioxin levels throughout all of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Gough was a government scientist who chaired the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services advisory panel on the effects of dioxin-contaminated Agent Orange on military personnel in Vietnam.

   Si je ne m'abuse,la norme de sûreté de l'Agence environnementale américaine (EPA) est de 0.06 pg/g de matière grasse. La norme française à atteindre selon le CSHPF (dénomination avant l'AFSSA),ceci dans le lait,est de 1pg/g de matière grasse soit une valeur 166fois plus grande.La différence s'explique par une différence de modélisation selon que l'on prend ou non un effet de seuil. Pour être complet, au delà de 3 pg/g les préfets doivent déterminer les sources de contamination et prendre des mesures capables de réduire ces sources. Au delà de 5 pg/g le lait doit être retiré.
   Pour en revenir à ces glaces à teneur 200 fois plus grande que la norme de l'EPA,cela nous amène à environ 1,2pg/g,ce qui serait une valeur tout à fait acceptable  en terme de réglementation française, mais aussi par rapport à l'OMS (norme fixée à 1à4 pg/g).
   D'autre part,je serais curieux de connaitre les teneurs d'autres marques de glaces et de n'importe quel produit alimentaire américain. La norme de l'EPA est tellement faible qu'il ne doit pas exister un seul produit capable de la respecter. Toutes les valeurs connues en France à ce jour quel que soit l'aliment sont supérieures à 0.06 pg/g.
   Il y a sans doute des enjeux ou des réglements de compte ou des manipulations qui échappent au lecteur occidental moyen dans cette affaire
   Conclusion: La norme de l'EPA est théoriquement intéressante du point de vue pédagogique. Elle démontre qu'avec des valeurs extrêmement faibles il existe encore un risque. Mais cette norme est pratiquement inutilisable, et je le dis avec une profonde amertume, car toute l'alimentation existante est sans doute contaminée largement au-dessus de ce seuil du fait des activités humaines mais aussi du fait du volcanisme et des immenses feux de forêts.

Le site JUNKSCIENCE  http://www.junkscience.com/ prend apparemment le ton des détracteurs de l'industrie agro-alimentaire pour mieux les contrer.

J'ai retrouvé ce site grâce au message de Gabrielle BARMA concernant la présence de dioxine dans une marque de glaces américaines J'ai pu observer que le fabricant de glace avait auparavant travaillé en commun avec Greenpeace pour justement éviter la présence de dioxine dans ses produits. C'est sans doute pour cette raison que JUNKSCIENCE a jugé bon de sortir le même type de communiqué alarmiste que ce qui est fait par les activistes.
