Extrait (page 28) Limite maximale de résidus d'origine étrangère pour le DDT.
La Commission n'a pu parvenir à un consensus sur les propositions tendant à fixer la limite maximale de résidus d'origine étrangère (LMRE) pour le DDT dans la viande à 3 mg/kg ou bien à 5 mg/kg comme proposé par le Comité sur les résidus de pesticides. La majorité des membres de la Commission ayant exprimé une opinion se sont déclarés favorables à une LMRE de 1 mg/kg, c'est-à-dire encore inférieure. Toutefois, étant donné qu'une telle limite représentait un amendement important aux propositions du Comité sur les résidus de pesticides, la Commission a décidé de retenir provisoirement la LMRE actuelle de 5 mg/kg et est convenue que la proposition d'abaisser cette LMRE à 1 mg/kg serait renvoyée au Comité pour examen complémentaire.

Si le DDT est réemployé, quid de la liste des produits qui risquent de ne plus être exportables vers des pays comme par exemple, le japon, les USA, le Canada ou l'Europe ) vu les normes résidus en place concernant ce produit ?

d'ailleurs comme ce produit est interdit d'usage depuis x années, les normes sont ?

- denrées alimentaires d'origine animale (directive 86/363/CEE) :
* matières grasses contenues dans les viandes ,préparations de viande, abats et matières grasses animales : 1
* lait et produits laitiers : 0,04

le DDT a été accueilli avec joie dans les zones paludéennes, puis honni, supprimé à l'arrivée du LINDANE salué en grande pompes pour être honni à son tour et supprimé à l'arrivée de pyréthrinoides de synthèse et ainsi va le cycle du chemical marketing...puisque maintenant grâce au néo marketing au nom de l'écologie on s'acharne en Camargue en septembre...à essayer de tuer en post saison touristique des moustiques avec des produits bio qui fonctionnent mal, alors ....ne laissons trop vagabonder nos pensées en ces domaines, elles s'égareraient trop vite dans les marais!

Au sujet du DDT et du BT, je voudrais faire trois remarques

1 - Plus question, j'espère, de penser épandre le DDT à gogo. Souvenez-vous des années 40. Dans des documentaires sur l'armée américaine dans le Pacifique, on voyait des soldats poudrés à haute pression. Ils fermaient les yeux, la bouche, se pinçaient le nez pour ne pas être asphyxiés, et en sortaient béats, contents d'être débarassés de leurs habitants et de leurs visiteurs à six pattes. Une utilisation raisonnable (mousticaire imprégnée par ex) serait admissible de nos jours...mais cela ferait bien moins de tonnage et cela fera hésiter les commerciaux (à moins de doubler le prix de vente de la mousticaire...?).
2 - Beaucoup d'insectes, dont les moustiques, sont devenus résistants aux chlorés, puis aux organophosphorés, puis aux pyréthrinoïdes, et un insecte résistant supporte allégrement cent fois, mille fois la dose de départ.
3 - Il a fallu vingt ans au BT pour prouver son inocuité pour l'homme, alors qu'un insecticide chimique était homologué en dix ans ou moins. Les différents BT sont efficaces, sans discussion possible. Celui qui marche pour les moustiques (BTI) est larvicide. Il ne peut tuer directement les adultes, contrairement à d'autres insecticides. Il est vrai que certains utilisateurs rêvent de leur mort instantanée. Il fut un temps où l'on mélangeait deux produits, l'un qui tuait assez lentement, et l'autre qui faisait tomber l'insecte au sol (effet "knock-down"). Les sceptiques qui avaient la patience d'attendre un peu voyaient l'insecte se relever et souvent s'envoler avant d'aller mourir plus loin...(?) (à moins de faire partie de la minorité résistante ou d'avoir reçu une dose subléthale)... Quant aux prix de l'épandage BT, il ne devrait pas être significativement plus élevé qu'avec un autre produit moins cher, la presque totalité du coût relevant de la main d'oeuvre et de l'utilisation du matériel d'épandage
